Blackberry pie

Well fortunately that cold didn't settle down and visit too long. I'm sure that ginger tea helped. It was great having mum stay for a few days, the kids loved having her around. And it made things a whole lot easier for me while Aaron was away. Thanks mum :) We visited the framing shop while mum was here, and now our new painting is all ready to hang, and I love it. (Yes I'll show you soon). We also went for a long drive out into the country and visited the stables where mum's horse came from. They have the most beautiful horses, which they use in films and television commercials. I don't know why I didn't take any photos while I was there, my camera was sitting in the car! My favourite are the Fresian stallions - next time I'll get my camera out!

And yes strangely this totally does relate to blackberry pie. As a trip out that side of town must always involve stopping in at a few of the many great fruit and vege shops along the way. Fresh blackberries, yum! I can see I'm going to have to start growing some berries of my own soon.

I made the pie using this recipe.
And I had to try out this recipe for the pastry after Jessicah recommended it - a good recommendation indeed.
Delicious.

I'm glad the recipe was so successful for you too! I made a different pastry the other night and it just wasn't as good- too buttery, not flaky....Your pie looks delicious! Can't wait to see the painting.

NNNYUMMM - brings back memories of when my girlfriend and I would go down the gully behind our house and pick buckets of wild blackberries and we would have pies and jam. Good idea growing your own. C U Soon. The blackberries have Vit C for your cold - more reason to eat more pie.
Love GG

I must confer the excellence of that pie-the pastry was superb! Even better than the one I usually make! And I believe it tasted just as good next day, cold, for breakfast!!!
