Sparkling skies and loud bangs

It's guy fawkes time.
Look at these chickens, watching from the safety of the bedroom window.

We set off just a few fireworks last night, we're saving a few for the weekend. Poppi (Aaron's dad) will be here, maybe the kids will be a little braver second time around and venture outside.

I find fireworks such a kind of crazy thing, people exploding things in their back yards, I'm sure the day will come when they ban it altogether, it does seem a little scarey and dangerous. And every year we hear of 'incidents' resulting from people being silly with them. I have to admit I'm too chicken to ever light any.

We've given up on fireworks at home after three near-misses on different years. There's a particular shape of firework that is always in the packets from the Warehouse, and it is prone to tipping over and shooting flaming balls randomly, horizontally, and nearly at whoever is watching.

The fireworks on halloween scared my three-year-old so bad- I felt awful for him. It is a funny thing, isn't it?

All the poor animals too, Adde is worried sick about her horse.

We were going to be letting some off tonight at a friend of Ra's, but before we could even get started one of his boys tripped and fell on a piece of wood with a nail sticking out, ow!! So that was the end of that, he was off in an ambulance and we were off home.

Maybe it was a sign, bloomin' dodgy fire crackers!! (and pieces of wood with rusty nails)

And whats worse is that the 'banging' goes on all week! I'd say encourge your'chickens' to remain 'chicken' Hanna! p.s-Adde is still anxious about the horses cos it seems the neighbours still haven't let theirs off!
