Getting some sewing done

My sewing machine started playing up about a week or so before we went away. The tension was being all silly and I just couldn't get it sorted. It was driving me a little crazy, it ended up getting so bad that I just had to give up trying to sew anything - aghhh! me, not sewing? Not good. But you know it actually turned out to be rather good timing, as my sister Frith has just recently discovered a Bernina sewing machine repair guy just a few houses down from her. So I bundled up my trusty old machine and crammed it in to the back of the car between cots and bedding and gumboots and such to come along with us on our journey.

Sweatshirt for Isla with squirrel embroidery.
That was fun to make, I see more embroidery on things in the future.

This wonderful fellow had it all serviced and up and running like a dream within a few hours, and all for only $40, my last service cost $90. So I'm pretty happy now, and making up for lost sewing time. And I can see this won't be the last time my sewing machine joins us on out of town family visits.
Actually it's not only my sewing machine services I'll be travelling long distances for, but my hair cuts too, Frith your hair dresser is great! I haven't had a cut this good for a long time. I quite like your opp shop too, maybe I should just move to Waihi.

Merino top made from one I got at the opp shop for me that didn't fit.

I agree with Frith-the move to Waihi is, as they say, a no-brainer! (but I suspect you've heard that all before eh Hanna!)
Your stretch sewing is looking very professional and it looks like Isla is grooming herself to be a model!
