Making lemonade

We've been really enjoying this lemonade.
Our friend has a big lemon tree covered in big juicy lemons.
The recipe makes a highly concentrated cordial that keeps in the fridge for ages.
The kids love to help. It gets a little sticky.

:: Lemonade Cordial ::

- 3 lge lemons (I usually use 3-5)
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups boiling water
- 2 tsp Tartaric acid
- 2 tsp citric acid

Peel the lemons thinly usng a potato peeler. Put the peel, strained juice, and sugar in a bowl with the boiling water. Add acids & stir well. Bottle.
Mix with water to drink. I do about 1 part syrup to 6 or more parts water.
*Mum gave me the recipe, not sure where she got it from.
Forgot to say you need to strain the bits out before you bottle it.

Oh, yum. My Max makes "lemonade" (he's four) all the time...although he just hand-squeezes lemon into water and pours in a bunch of agave:) Yours looks much tastier (but don't tell him I said that;))!

Definately going to make some, we have been given lots of lemons which is wonderful, but I'm struggling to use them all up!

I've been looking for that recipe. I think it used to be on the side of the king's citric and tartaric acid boxes. Pity the lemon shaped bullets we have won't count as large lemons.

Yum! I've just made the same thing- except didn't have the citric/tartaric so left it out. Not as much zing that way. Also my reipe doesn't mention the skins- though I do put all the pulpy bits in. A perfect winter drink!
