I found a lovely soft Marks and Spencers wool jumper at the opp shop this week
(It would have been kind of cool to have taken a before shot of it, but I was too keen to get started!). I had just recently seen this vest tutorial, so I had on my mind to make a wool vest for Liam. I planned on knitting both of them a vest before winter, but at the rate I'm going I think it shall just be one vest! So both jumper and tutorial have been good timing this week, just to take the pressure off a bit :) And it feels quite good to have two new garments for the tiny price of $2 each!

Oh wow those are so cute! Yes, Stace has been making vests too - I'd like to try one out at some stage, they look great! And what cute little monkeys you have! Adorable photos
that is awesome. great recycling!
Nice "matchy matchy" those two are wollys, need I say more.xx
Thats a really great recycling story! Less pressure on me to knit heh heh. And those chillins-are they adorable or what?!
Very clever and they look perfect, both the garments and the cute kids !
Oh my goodness Hanna these are so absolutely gorgeous and ooozzzzee cuteness! You are so golly clever and the children are the best little models ever ... also so gorgeous. Well done, the shop needs some more of your gear for sale for the rest of us untalented people!!
They are so cute (clothes and kiddies!)
Love it, well done. I'm a fan of stripes! x
perfect!! you never cease to amaze me. such happy children too!
These are adorable! I make my daughter similar things--pants and a dress from one sweater--but I haven't figured out how to do lovely finished arm bindings like yours. What did you use for the grey binding there? It looks great!
I love the creating that you do Hanna!
Super cute little ones too : )
a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e!
Awesome job!
How clever is THAT? Amazing. (And too cute, those little munchkins :)
Just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tanktop!! I know it says for a little boy but I think I see both my little girls in one this winter! Thanks so much for the link. x
That is so gorgeous! All of a sudden your Isla seems so grown up! Is it just me or are you thinking that too?
I love that they have one piece each. I have just done something similar with an old merino of mine that had seen better days. I made a pair of leggings for Sofia and some baby yoga pants for Sacha. There wasn't much left over afterwards.
My Mum is the absolute queen of recycling jumpers into lovely warm clothes for my babies. I don't have to worry that I don't have a chance to do it because she pumps then out.
I love recycling!
What a great job you have done, loves the stripes too. Oooo I just bought your smurf pants off felt I can't wait to try then on Tessa.
Such a wonderful idea! Boy, I need to get my hands on some thrifted wool since it's likely I'm not going to pick up knitting any day too soon. Thanks for sharing such a crafty idea...I'm sticking it in my brain-file for a future project.
Great idea! xo m.
Oh I love it!
I love making baby pants from sweaters, and your vest is so sweet.
There is nothing like scoring a woolen sweater at the thrift store...unless it's a striped one.
Your boys are simply adorable.
