We went on a fossil hunting expedition to one of our local beaches. Liam had been asking a lot - (he was inspired by watching these you tube videos, amazing right! If only that place was just down the road from us!). We didn't find any megalodon teeth unfortunately or any other amazing fossils, but we did crack open some really interesting rocks with quartz and crystals inside. It was really interesting looking at all the different types of rock and contemplating how they might have been formed. When you look closely it's amazing the beauty that you can discover.
It's a great reason to get into the outdoors on a sunny winters day too and explore our surroundings.
I'll take some photos of some of the interesting rocks Liam bought home with him to show you tomorrow.
