I have had grand plans for a while of making a little outdoor kitchen for the kids so they can make up mud pies etc and food for their make-believe rabbits and horses. A nice little wooden bench with a sink and shelves, and perhaps even a little tap hooked up to the hose for some running water. Some old pots and pans collected from the opp shop, some wooden spoons and such things.
But really, they're quite happy with the piece of old plywood on some concrete blocks that I made the other day. I may make something more permanent later, but for now, as far as they're concerned, it's just perfect.

Wow I have not had a look for a few days (with the 8 games of rugby watched and all - yes even in Australia the fever is here) you have all been very busy. So much packed into a week. Thanks so much for keeping us in the picture so graphically. With all this we could have an All Black to aspire to, a rally driver, a chef?! So much to decide. Luv GG
I like the idea of a chef in the family :)Or an olympic equestrian rider-western style of course! Mx
Have you seen the book 'Mud Pies and other Recipes' by Marjorie Winslow? I have made it a gift for any little members of our family and it is universally loved...I think it would go down well with your little chefs too! :D
Ahhh the simplicity of a childs imagination...bless
i too, think it is just perfect!
Same things going on here. I saw an outdoor kitchen set up just last year and became dedicated to setting up a little area for the kids. I find it most funny that I find thrifted kitchen goodies thinking it'll enhance their play...and they find stuff in the the yard to play with. :)
Children sure love playing outside, cheers Marie
I always love seeing kids enjoying themselves! With your outdoor kitchen, I’m sure that your kids will never have a dull moment! Anyway, it’s good that they are learning while playing at the same time!
What are your boys cooking there? Looks like they are really interested in what they’re doing! Why don’t you set up a real outdoor kitchen and teach your boys how to cook? Wouldn’t that be so much fun?
